Hello,

I came across what appears to be a 54/55 Outside righthand mirror.
The part # is 5942618 RH. I had an internet MPL, but wasn't able to find it.
Does anyone have a MPL, and would you mind looking it up for me?
Also, any idea where I could find a downloadable MPL?

Thanks
Jeff Rose

The casting number  is not the part number.
    Part numbers(1958 book)
     Cadillac 1954-55  mirror
   Group 33.2100  897093 left w/attaching parts
                  879086 Right w/attaching parts
The casting number may be telling who made the mirror. Guide Division used numbers in this range at that time.
example 1954-55 Cadillac Headlamp Door 5945022.
For me ,the part looks right and the mounting directions are proof.

That looks to me like a 1950-1953 outside rear view mirror. According to my 1935-55 MPL if it is for the left side it is part number 929217.  Right side = 929322.

BTW: My Cad is a '49, but I prefer the look of the 50-53 mirror so I have 2 on my car. GM used those same mirrors on Corvettes through the early '70s, so for many years they were sold for a reasonable cost at Chev dealers. No longer, but after market Corvette parts houses usually stock reproductions of them.  For a Cad you must specify that you want the version without the Chevy bowtie emblem.
