Often when in Auburn IN over the Labor Day Weekend we see other CLC members. This year the fabulous ACD Museum is celebrating it's 50th anniversary in conjunction with the annual ACD Festival.

Indiana Region member Tom Hoczyk is usually hanging out showing one of his Pro cars at the Friday evening car show around the Courthouse in downtown Auburn.

Also while Worldwide Auctions has their Fall auction the Early Ford V8 Museum is again hosting a large swap meet and car corral.  www.facebook.com/earlyfordv8museum/

Want free tickets to the Auction? There are always at least a couple Cadillacs being run through.   Select one-day passes and use the coupon codes either Speed&shine or AU24VIP.  https://destinationauburn.com/product/the-auburn-auction-show-4-day-admission-august-28-31/

To commemorate the ACD Museum's 50th Anniversary, my dear friends and co-workers on the VCCA's G&D magazine, Art Directors Lucy & Steve Blakey, wrote and designed, respectively, a great book for the Museum.  The book is available for $50.00 plus shipping at https://acdamstore.com/products/acdam-50th-anniversary-book-home-of-the-classics.

When I was in my mid teens I saw an Earnest Borgnine movie called The Last Great Ride where he drove a burgundy Deusenberg. It was a beautiful car and started my interest in them.

When I was 18 and drove to College in Oklahoma I detoured to the Auburn Cord Deusenberg museum. I got there 15 minutes before they closed and ran through the place. That was my first time actually seeing a Deusenberg.

Then I saw a white one at the Henry Ford Museum. They have it parked next to a Bugatti Royal.

Then I managed to Visit Straight Eight LLC and saw 3 Deusenbergs and two Cadillac V16s they were working on. I kept my hands to myself. But I really wanted to touch one.

Cool story. Terry Adderly from the Detroit area owned at least 13 Duesenbergs plus Bugattis, mini Bugattis, Packards, Cadillacs, many wood boats including double-hull, lots of other Classics. I think his collection was a stop on the Michigan CLC Driving Tour.

He passed a few years ago and many of his cars were donated to the Gilmore Museum. Fabulous.
