Saw this at a local car show. Said to have been a rare 1942 war standards build, as originally was a black out version, (since WWII all paint removed to show chrome, etc). 6107 Coupe. Don't know this year of Cadillac well, but looks like rear trim over & near fender skirts missing? Clay/Lexi

The rear fender spear would possibly be impossible to find these days. I remember seeing a 1946-47 Series 61 coupe in a junk yard on the South side of Indy which was not my usual stomping grounds and at that time, back in the late sixties, there was no indication that the supply of them would ever dry up.

Carl Steig and I were judging a 1942 Series 67 once and it was missing either the spears or the rubber stone guards. Otherwise, it was a very nice car. Possibly the rarest part for these cars would be the 1947 stone guards which were chromed, as by then, the Series 61 coupe was not selling too well. And back then, no one was interested in restoring them, either.

Buick came out the best using those bodies as they used them clear up into 1949. I remember seeing the "new" 1950 Special/Super bodies around Flora well before the usual time of new model release that summer while visiting my grandparents, and wondered "how that could be."
