Any tips for cleaning seat belt fabric?

I pulled my rear seats out of my 68 Coupe DeVille so I could remove the rear quarter panels (I'm having them redone, along with the door panels).  Any tips for safely cleaning the fabric on the seat belts?  I don't expect them to be perfect, but am pretty sure I could make them look a lot better if I can figure out the best way to do it.

There is a product called "Tuff Stuff" that is a fabric cleaner that works on all types of cloth and rugs.  I've used it and recommended it to others as well.  It comes in a spray can and is easy and safe to use.  It cleans without fading the colors.

I put mine in the dishwasher and what a difference they were afterwards. So soft too.

The dishwasher didn't fray the fabric?  Did you put the buckles in the dishwasher too, and did you use the heated drying or no?  Great suggestion!

I just cleaned mine using dishwater detergent using a sponge and then rinsed with clean water and it worked great. Chris lets talk.

No fraying. I did put it on Sterilize heating to ensure the moisture was removed immediately to eliminate rusting. That was 3 years ago and they still look great.
