Idea: Only include the roster in future printed rosters?

I got the 2025 CLC printed roster in the mail today. I paid extra for it. I like these books because they contain everything there is to know about the Cadillac and Lasalle Club and a lot about the actual cars. I like the printed book but I know they are a big expense for the club, especially when all it contains is on the website.

As a compromise, to reduce the cost of the printed books, how about each year only including the actual roster and the indexes in the back. Would this reduce the cost enough so the club could again send them out annually without additional cost to members? The roster changes more frequently than all of the other information in the book. All the other CLC information could remain exclusive to the website.

Maybe this is a moot issue because everyone has already moved on from printed rosters.
What does anyone else think?

As part of the team that puts the International Membership Directory together each year, lots of information in Part I changes on an annual basis, so the entire book needs to be printed. We introduced two new charts of older Cadillacs in the 2025 issue thanks to research by Paul Ayres. We expect an update to The Self-Starter Index in the 2026 edition, as the gentleman who compiles the information had some health challenges and hopes to be back in the saddle soon.

The financial picture is that the CLC broke even on the Directory after all expenses, so it's worthwhile to give our members what they want, in either printed or PDF form. About 600 copies were printed, 530 were sold, and GM Club Apparel will sell the remaining copies.

Tim, how do I go about buying a printed copy of the 2025 issue?  On the GM Club Apparel website it says you must pay for it by August 2024. Jay

Same question.  I'd love to buy a new Directory.

I first sent an email to GM Apparel asking about buying a printed version of the directory.  I received in reply a link to buying an authenticity manual.  I then called that number, had to go through a menu and then was connected to voice mail.

Finally got one.

Hi Jay, sorry you had to go through all of that just to buy a directory. This is the first year the CLC sold the directory a la carte, so hopefully it will be easier to purchase in future years. I bought three years' worth of directories back in May when the ad first appeared on the outer wrap of The Self-Starter.

Hi Tim,

Well, it was really just a mix up and it arrived quickly. As it always has been, the directory is a great publication.
