Any one have a good solution for this, all the stuff on internet doesn't fit the tranny hump  very well and tips over easily. Need something with wider stance. At least one cup holder built in would be nice too. Hopefully around $50 or less.. Thanks, A.

I have seen people build them.  Out of what depends on what you like to work with.   The key feature that isn't always obvious seems to be having it attached to some sort of a floor mat carpet sort of thing.  The mat basically keeps it in place when is in use and is easily removed as an assembly and replaced with stock stuff for shows.  If you are not going to build it out of nice wood and finish it covering it with the same carpet would be an option.

I have seen them with various speakers and audio players as well as the cupholders.  Have seen em made to work with tool batteries as well as a lighter power cord.

This is what I use in my Ranchero.

But, I am showing it in my Eldorado, but with the flat floor, it doesn't display it so well.

Even has hooks to attach the CB Radio.

PS.  Never had it come loose whilst driving the Ranchero.  The little nibs really grip the carpet piles.

There used to be, and may still be, cup holders that clip onto the door panel or ashtray door.

About a "billion" years ago I saw someone who had made a decent looking council that attached to the front og the front seat and slid along the trans tunnel as the seat was moved back and forwards. Probably something an adapt upholstery shop could make for a couple of hundred or less.

Thanks all, custom built may be best answer, I have a duplicate of the plastic tray used by previous owner which fails for me, maybe Im going around corners too fast. A.

That tray that I use in my Ranchero has never come loose whilst I have been driving my vehicle.   And I do drive hard, and love fanging it around corners.

I believe keeping it in place is why some of the designs attach to a carpet/floor mat sort of thing.  The mats often have sort of teeth that have some resistance when pulled sideways into carpet.  Some weight down as low as possible could help?   Like a weight lifting weight maybe?  How about magnets?  As long as you are not storing anything in it that is going to care or stick?

Mine is held down by the weight of a couple of Shackles, Remote Garage Door Opener, and other nicknacks like my mobile phone and a few lollies.

Those little nibs really latch onto the carpet piles.
