I think all of us have everyone living in the fire area in our prayers.   The trouble with fire is that it destroys everything.   Takes no prisoners, and doesn't differentiate between good and bad.

I have a friend in Altadena that lost their home to the fire, They were in the evacuation zone. The Altadena Country Club where my daughter had her wedding reception burned down. The fire spread so quickly there.

My brother lived in a house on Country Club Drive, directly facing the club, his house is gone. Absolutely devastating for him. He saved his passports (US and UK), 5 of his guitars (he's a musician), his laptop and the clothes he was wearing.

There is one collectors collection that seems to be shown a lot both burning and now.  Looks like was quite a variety of cars but the one that stood out to me especially in the burning video was a early Tornado.  Its also one that is still pretty easy to pick out after,  many of the others you probably have to really know the model to identify them after whats left.  The cars they showed didn't appear to have been inside any sort of building.

Bob.
If it's any consolation.  I found Andy's address through google and checked the map and the address this came up for him is so close like an Only few houses away from the path. But it looks to be ok.  Regardless.  It's close enough for smoke damage.

After I realized it's Andy from Adex pumps.  I checked with a friend.

And it sounds like he is safe and with his family.

If you have an address, there is an interactive map you can check to see if the structure has been destroyed, has major damage, minor damage or 0 damage.

I haven't seen many videos showing older classics.  Mainly Porsches, exotics, etc.  There was one video of Pacific Palisades where it looked as if someone lost two really nice 30s-40s Buick sedans.

What are they estimating now 12,000 homes lost?  You do wonder how many classic cars were lost too especially since that was an region that maybe had more than average. I also wonder about things like was there things like a 'lost' Picasso in someones private collection?

Its hard to tell in some of the photos or videos but it seems like you see a fair number of classics that didn't appear to have been in any sort of garage.  Anyone know is it just because of the climate that they are often not in a garage or were they moved out or in the process of being moved?

I've seen a few more videos of the damage and I've seen Buicks, Chevy's, tons of classic exotics, and a few Cadillacs (including a 58 Brougham) completely destroyed.  I'm willing to bet you Hagerty will be changing their stance on payouts after this.

Classic car collection burnt in Altadena

I can only hope that everyone got out alive. Interesting that the news crew in this segment focused on the destruction of classic cars. Aside from the death often caused by fire; the destruction of homes or other possessions from photo albums to automobiles is sad as they also represent the loss of irreplacable memories. Clay/Lexi

Hi Bob,

My brother's house was burnt to the ground in the Eaton fire. He lived beside the Altadena Country Club. He lost so much.

So sorry to learn of that Phil. I can't even begin to imagine how that must feel to have experienced that. I hope that he and his family are safe. What a nightmare situation for all who live there. Clay/Lexi

For the people asking about fancy things lost in the fire.  Anthony Hopkins lost his home and he happened to have a few really really expensive paintings 10mil+ and actually had the Hannibal mask and lots of things like that sort but usually these people have these things listed and insured so at least they'll be a record of them being destroyed.
Far as illegally obtained, Picassos or masterpieces or antiquity yeah destroyed forever
