When I was about 8 I discovered my Grandparents National Geographic magazines had Cadillac ad's and they let me cut them out and I scotch taped them around my bedroom. I will never forget when I was 10 in 1964 my Grandfather who was an attorney and always bought Hudson's till he then bought AMC cars brought home a 1964 brochure and opened it to the 1964 Ambassador 990 Hardtop page and asked me what I thought. When I said PaPa why can't we go to Valley Cadillac I like the cars with tail fins the reaction was immediate where do you get those ideas we are not rich ! etc. I think I might not have gotten as bad a reaction if I had sworn.
Age 70, Living in Gods waiting room ( Florida ) Owned over 40 Old Cadillac's from 1955's to 1990 Brougham's. Currently own a 1968 Cadillac DeVille Convertible and a 1992 Cadillac 5.7 Brougham.

I started on mid 1950s National Geographic Cadillac ads as well. Quite addicting. Clay/Lexi

I bought my first Cadillac at the age of 19 (a '56 Series 75 in 1970). My grandfather also was a Hudson owner who converted to AMC. The difference between the '64 Ambassador and Cadillac couldn't be more stark;

Correct Terry. My Grandfather bought the 1964 990 Hardtop in dark green with cream colored roof and green interior. He died in 1967 and my Mother traded it in on a 1 year old silver 1966 Cadillac Calais 4 door hardtop with a black cloth interior.

I got another one. I like the shades of dark blue in both of these cars.

A seldom seen 1961 Advsertisement.  When top hat and tails were correct.  And yes, order black with white walls which appear wider than standard issue of the day, but pass on the radio.

Here's a few of our framed advertisements. Someday I would like to find an assembled P-38 fighter and hang it in my shop.

Very nice Bob! So I am not the only one who would also like a P38 on display in my shop. Clay/Lexi

Fakebook must have been watching over my shoulder.

This popped up in my feed; a company will create your own automotive poster, Artistically styled like an advertisement.

Why, often after reading comments like these do I fell WANTING, AND DON'T MEASURE UP.

"Hang a P-38 in my shop" - Bob and Lexi.

I guess I should have been more clear. What I meant was a model of a P-38 with a wingspan of maybe 4'.

Bob

FYI, I went to U of Oregon, B.S Journalism/Advertising 1978
They were filming Animal House on campus my senior year. My roomies were in the Sigma Nu house when they were freshmen, we drank a lot of beer in the basement party room there. That's where the toga party scene was filmed.....:)

Out of sheer practicality, a model will do! Clay/Lexi

Lexi,

So coy.
You didn't actually say your shop was too small for the real thing.

But, we the unwashed masses can still keep hoping.
