Replacing all the belts on my '60 CDV (A/C belt was missing when I got it). Both Power Steering and Generator are too short to slip on then tighten. I can FORCE them on by putting a ratchet on the pulley to "walk" the belt on but that can't be "normal" can it?

Anyone got PS, GEN, and AC belt part numbers they've had success with?  I'm about to go through and find belts 1/2" or so longer than what GATES says is correct.

Current belts-      GENERATOR: Gates 7570 - 57-5/8"
              POWER STEERING: Gates 7630 - 63"
A/C COMPRESSOR: Gates 7619 - 62-5/8" (don't know how well this one fits, waiting for compressor to arrive)

Thanks.

For my non ac 60 I went to NAPA. They looked up belts and sold me correct size. Could your car have been modified in some way?

No modifications. It's been a long time since I had something with V-belts. (Even my '77 C30 is LS swapped.)I know they'll stretch some with use. Part numbers seem to match up, they'd just be a real pain to swap on the roadside being this tight. I ordered new Gates belts, slightly longer from www.vbeltguys.com I'll update when they come in.
