1962 CDV

1962 Coupe DeVille - For sale for $15,000.

Located in Reno, Nevada. This is my car - I am the seller. Clear Nevada title is in my name.

Original engine and transmission. No rust - been in California and the Nevada desert since new.

Starts and runs; shifts through all gears; all power windows work; headlights, taillights and turn signals work; registered and driveable; needs to have the suspension rebuilt, brakes serviced, and carburetor adjusted to be a safe daily driver. New coil springs and shocks are included in the sale, but will need to be installed.

I've owned this car for ten years and mostly done work to the interior. The front seat was completely redone - seat frame was powder coated; new foam and upholstery installed. New carpet kit installed. Steering wheel was completely recast by Quality Restorations in Poway, CA (cost $1,850). Steering wheel is now like new. Door panels and rear armrests redone. Remaining interior work includes having the dash recovered and the passenger door armrest recovered.

New heating and radiator hoses recently installed; new fan clutch; new battery.

Here's a short list of what DOES NOT work on this car:
Cruise Control
Speedometer
Radio
Washer/Wipers
Auto-Headlight Dimmer
Power Locks/Remote Trunk Release/Auto Parking Brake Release
Dash Light Missing
Cigarette Lighters/Ashtray Lights

This is a good solid car for full restoration. I'm posting this to see if there is any serious interest. If not, I'll keep it and continue working on it. Contact me through the forum and we can schedule a phone call. I will provide more information to serious buyers. I can post or send more pictures if requested. I'll post some engine compartment and underneath pictures soon.

Don Draper's car!  Nice!  Tempted but I don't know where I'd put it.

Thanks for the info. I'll send him an email. I suppose he could make more than $15,000 parting out my car. Although I think that would be a shame.

DONT part it out.  She has good bones and deserves the extra love to get her going.

Nobody's going buy this to part it out.

Parting out a good car is a multi-year endeavor. Plus you need the room to do it and the local scrap yard to clean up the tid bits.
