49 engine detailing

I am rebuilding my 49 coupe engine and transmission.
 What color should the water pump be painted?
Engine blue or black??

The water pump should be painted engine blue.  Here are some other tips on correct color for the 49 331 OHV V8.

fan blade: black
fan pulley: blue
generator adj. arm: engine blue
valve covers: engine blue with white painted (or decal) Cadillac script and bars
oil filler cap: black
air cleaner: black
