There are some other issues with my 1962 Cadillac.  First, the rear tail light in the fin part on the passenger side does not come on when the headlights are turned on, but the brake light and turn signal light do.  What is the problem and how can I fix it.  Second, the heater just started not working.  The heater fan comes on, but no air blows out of the openings or the defroster vents.  The heater box gets warm and I can sort of feel warm air whisp out, but that is it.  What can I do?

Thanks,
Brodie

Gday Brodie,

Sounds like you have a poor contact at the tail light, which could be a siezed spring and the contact cant reseat itself against the globe contact when the globe is put back in.

Check the voltage at the contact before you put the light back in place.   If that is the problem, then you will have to free up the contact.

Secondly, re. the Heater, try looking inside the plenum in front of the windscreen and see if the passage to the air intake is blocked by leaves etc.   Sounds like the air flow is blocked.

Do you mean the brake light and turn signal come on when you operate the light switch. If so fix the groung connection on the rear light.
