There seems to be a zillion variations on the "350" engine used by GM. One of my manuals (Haynes) that covers BOP in the seventies shows a lot of differences among these three brands. Is there a site that can give me a lot of the details on these engines? The Olds 350 I have has much torque and no revs, but my buddys Chevy winds way up and sounds totally different. Besides the obvious cams and carbs and catalytics, what are the "deep" diffences, like blocks, heads, etc.? I am well aware that 1976 Olds used some Chevy engines, I have an "R" in the VIN.
