Greetings from Belgium,

My wife and I are planning a road trip in the USA. The idea is to buy a 1970s Cadillac and drive that to Los Angeles, where the car will be shipped to our home country. We are trying to a find a good roadworthy car located in one of the following states:
Montana
Wyoming
Utah
Idaho
Colorado
Nebraska
Kansas
Oklahoma
Texas
or even Alberta (Canada)

Our choice goes to a closed RWD car, which basically means a DeVille or a Fleetwood. The car should be capable of reliably undertaking a 3,000 mile trip through the USA. We are keeping an eye out on eBay and the larger classifieds sites on the Internet. However, if any of the forum readers knows about a car that could qualify as a candidate for our trip, we would love to hear about it.

Thanks in advance for any leads you may have.

I have a nice Bombay Yellow 1975 Sedan de Ville for sale.  It has been owned by a family member or friend of the family since delivered 12/24/74 at Bob Moore Cadillac here in Oklahoma City.  It has over 150,000 miles but runs and looks good.  My uncle meticulously maintained it until it went into storage a few years ago.  All accessories work except the A/C.  It has a gold leather/cloth interior.  For a road trip it will need tires and some front end work.  I am very adamant that this car go to a good home.  It is priced at $2,000 for the right buyer who will take care of her.  Email me at allante93jj@aol.com fo rmor einfo and pictures if you are interested.

Rik,
I have a 1975 Coupe de Elegance that is a 70 K mile "time capsule". I put new tires and a new radiator in it and I wouldn't hesitate to jump in and go anywhere.  I bought it from the original owner who kept it in the garage for it's entire life. It still actually smells new.  White with red  top and red cloth interior. $12,500.,
San Antonio Texas so you know the AC works, as well as everything else including the 8 track.

Hello Rik-
I don't know if you're still looking- I've been on vacation and haven't seen this post previously.

I have a 1978 Sedan DeVille D'Elegance that has 109K kms on it in Southern Alberta.  All original, everything is in working order, original faded Autumn Haze Firemist paint and a mint vinyl top.  Reasonably good on gas with the 425 and long highway gears.  New: rad, carb, brakes all around, shocks including working air ride rears, tires, upgraded (134A) A/C, plus a bunch of spare parts and manuals.  Looking for $3750CDN.

Interested?

Let me know.
