1937 LaSalle coupe

Hello everyone. Since I can't find a windshield division bar (inside and outside pieces), I am making the inside piece. What I would like to know is the length of the bar? Also is the holes equal distance from the ends of the bar? An accurate dimension will be greatly appreciated. This part is for a 1937 LaSalle and the same for '37 & '38 Cadillac, Oldsmobile, and Pontiacs....  John Lehman... CLC # 26365....

John,

If they are the same on the La Salle as they are on the big series Caddies, I think I have a set. Not in the best of nick but.....

Let me know if they will be of use,

Regards,

Thanks, John. I know the glass will not interchange and was told the larger series Cadillacs have shorter windshields. It's too bad but I will keep asking. Thanks again... John Lehman... CLC # 26365...

John L,
I'll dig mine out tomorrow and post some dimensions if you think that the sedan and the coupe have the same height windshields.  Mine would be for a 37 4 door sedan.

John & others,
The MPB shows the outer as 37/38 La Salles & the inner as 37 LaSalle only. The 38 inner  may be the same as 37 but not chromed, hence the different P/N & cheaper price.

Folks,

On my 1937 LaSalle Coupe the inside has 4 screw holes, is 1" wide, and 13" long to the window mouldings (it is probably longer than that since it fits under these mouldings, but I'm not taking them apart to look).

I also sent two outside window dividers to the editor of the LaSalle Appreciation Society, he was supposed to pick the best one and send the other back to me. Has not happened yet. It might be Jack Hotz at jackscaddy@aol.com, if he is not the person he should know who the editor was with the 37 LaSalle.

Anyway if he still has it, have him ship it to you...

Hello John Washburn. I would gladly like to buy the windshield outer division bar from you. When and if you get the other piece back, let me know and I will forward you my address. By the way I enjoy your articles you write for the 'Self Starter'.  I had a similar experience with a gas line on my 1968 Pontiac convertible.  Hey, John, let me know how much you want for the windshield bar...  Thanks...
