Hi, I'm new here and I just got delivery of a 1978 Eldorado that I recently bought. While looking it over, I noticed on the drivers door above the manufacturers decal, there's a decal from American sun roof, stating that this vehicle was altered by them. This car has no sun roof, so my question is, did all of these cars get this decal?

Thanks,
-SAM-

Must have some type of special vinyl top?  Post a photo of the decal and one of the car.  I'm sure someone here can help you.

Welcome to the message board and enjoy your Eldo!

Yes, it does have a vinyl top, but I thought it was factory?

Here's a pic.

The biarritz "option" was done by the American Sunroof co.

I have a rare ASC catalog of their projects in the 70s and early 80s.   Here are the two pages featuring the Biarritz.

Thanks, Dave, for posting that neat ASC Catalog! I really enjoyed reading it and it would be great if something along these lines would come from a specialty car manufacturer for Cadillac again, or else the "Platinum" editions becoming even more luxurious.

Thanks Rich.

Here is a link to the rest of the pages in that book.   http://www.flickr.com/photos/that_chrysler_guy/sets/72157629658973408/

They did work for Lincoln and Chrysler as well.
