Should I get rid of my vacuum wipers?

Since your engine doesn't have the aux vacuum pump on the oil pump, I would suggest using an electric wiper motor.  Otherwise, every time you step on the gas, the wipers will completely stop (no matter how well the wiper motor is rebuilt).  That is why Cadillac had the second source of vacuum (and a relatively constant source, at that).  On the earlier engines  the aux pump was part of the fuel pump.  On the later ones it is attached to the oil pump.  Without it, I wouldn't even consider the vacuum wipers for a driver-type of car.

Thank you, electric it is then.  This is a great forum, thanks to all!
