It will fit but if thats the Cadillac size the jets and venturi are too big for the smaller La Salle engine.

John Washburn CLC 1067 Sadly deceased.

The AAV26 was the replacement carburetor for the 1937 in later years, per Stromberg and Cadillac. It will work fine. You might want to check the jets, but I doubt you will need to change them unless you live at 6500 feet like I do.

I changed my 37 LaSalle coupe to a AAV26, which has the vacuum port for the distributor vacuum advance, and updated to a 1940-48 distributor with a vacuum advance. Runs nicely.

But one word of caution, make sure the throttle plates are not sloppy, if they are (and a lot of Strombergs had this problem) it will not idle correctly and will sometimes stumble upon acceleration. The two air flow adjustments screws will not work properly if the shaft on the throttle plates is worn.
