Looking for a 1976 Eldorado Convertible, preferably Crystal Blue Firemist/White with ALL options, including fuel injection. Doesn't have to be a show car, as I would be restoring the car.
Would consider other Firemist colors equipped the same way, or Black.
Thanks,
Mike

I have a 76 Seville, which is EFI. Also have a 78 Eldorado, which is carb.

The EFI can be very, very finicky. When they run, they run great, but everything depends on the ECU and the sensors working well. The ECU is rebuildable ….for now. The sensors and distributor (also special) are available….for now.
If one of the temp sensors break in a few years, and you cannot find them somewhere, you aren’t going anywhere. You also have 8 fuel injectors and fuel rails to deal with instead of just one carb. Two electrical fuel pumps instead of one very simple mechanical one. If the distributor on the Seville goes in 10 years, I might have a problem. For the distributor on the Eldorado I could probably still get it at any auto parts store.

The EFI Eldorados have slightly more hp than the cab models, but I don’t even know if you will notice it. There are many Sevilles that were converted to carb over the years. Not sure how many carb cars have been converted to EFI, probably very, very few.
I like my Seville, but don’t have the slightest urge to convert the Eldorado to EFI. Personallly, if someone showed up with an identical Eldorado EFI to swap for mine, I probably won’t do it. If everything is set properly, the carb cars run just fine.

Just my opinion.
