I am interested in buying a restored 1960 Cadillac Biarritz convertible . Or maybe a deville convertible.
Car must be mechanically sound for long distance cruising.
Preferred color is red with white top and red/ white interior.

Willing to wait for the right car...

Hello Joe

Glad to read you are interested in acquiring a Cadillac.  The 1960 Cadillac 6267 and 6467 were both well designed automobiles. There were 14,000 DeVille convertibles but only 1,285 Biarritz models manufactured that year.  Our 2014 CLC International Directory reveals approximately 100 and 60 respectively.  Price estimates in number one condition for the 6267 are south of 110k with the Eldorado north of that figure.

I would suggest that you attend our Grand National in Lake George next month to view and discuss the peculiarities of each with show entrants.  I would recommend Brian Rachlin for a dinner chat.

I look forward to our acquaintance and enjoying your Cadillac acquisition.
All good men own a Cadillac but great gentlemen drive a LaSalle. That is the consequence of success.

I own a 1960 convertible (not for sale) and I have owned two 1960 Biarritz convertibles.  One was a project car and the other was was a low mileage original.

Any car that you find will have to be checked out either by you or by a professional to make sure that the car is not a Bondo and Armorall lathered up junker with a quickie red paint job.
There are a few ebay sellers, many in Florida, that keep running the same cars on ebay until they find a buyer and we also have heard stories about a dealer in St Louis that sold a rust bucket to an overseas buyer represented as a restored car.

My advice is to look at any car in person or have it inspected before spending any money.

Brian, thanks for your advice.
It's hard to tell via the internet the provenance of the vehicles.

Brian and CR many thanks for the introductions. Unfortunately I can't make the meet in Georgia next month .

However, I would like to meet up with you both one day or maybe a chat via phone. When I get close to finding a car, I may ask for you for some contacts to get a professional to look at .

Kind regards

Joe,
The Grand National meet is in Lake George, New York --- north of Albany, NY --- if that helps any.
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Mental Illness".  Dave Barry.   I walk that line.
