The floor carpet of my next restoration project disappeared, maybe rejected for the
poor status or selled as part. I've seen some full floor factory fit carpets made to
install on several Cadillac, Chevrolet... but one has to choose the color and I'm not
sure that they are as the original. What are the colors and wave of the cloth avaliable
as-factory?

Based on the trim code, I ordered fabric samples from SMS in Oregon, USA.  They also included carpet samples.  Looks good to me.

Dan, Refresh my memory. Isn't it a kind of a square weave?

I don't know what is correct for 53, but from 54-56 they used a special "Daytona" weave carpet that has a very short loop in a square weave pattern.  It is fairly distinctive and looks a lot different than the aftermarket carpet you normally see sold for $150-$200 or so.  I think it goes for about $500 or more from SMS.

If your car is supposed to have this Daytona weave, you might hold out for it -- it makes a big difference in the appearance of the interior.
