I'm trying to install a newer neutral safety switch in my 1957 convertible and am a little confused. I want to get it correct so I don't break off the new slide in the switch. I noticed that there are 2 holes on the back, which you can slide the guide post to where it sits between the 2 holes. Is that to align the switch for park or neutral? The service Manuel doesn't mention it. Thank you..Ron

Not sure I understand exactly what you mean.  About the only real adjustment is toke sure the car will only start in park and neutral snd that the reverse lights come on with the lever in reverse.  There's only the one elongated screw hole on the top of the switch.

Be careful of the horn contact position as it has to go through the hole in the steering column.

Hi Walter.  Thank you. When I took out the old switch and looked at the newer switch, I noticed 2 holes on the back metal cover and there are 2 small holes which seem to align the slide. I was just wondering if that's what the holes are for and does it align the switch for park or neutral? Thanks
