Can someone tell me what type nuts/acorns and size that go on the back of attached photo. These are located below the headlights . Any help as always is appreciated.

I don't recall the size but the were the stamped, sheet metal, self tapping type speed-nut. Measure the diameter of the pins to approximate the hole size.

I can't tell whether you've painted the black background of the back piece.  I suggest you get 3M matte or semi gloss black trim  tape rather than painting  it. The tape is easy to apply to the grooves then trim using the straight ribs as a guide for sharp edges. I've used this technique on several grilles and the tape does not lift or flake like paint does off of chrome. If you need the 3M part number let me know.
