If you have the Service Manual Section 14 under page 14-05 Fig. 14-9 will show you some basic routing for the wiper motor.

In addition you can check this site -> http://www.wiperman.com/washservpage.html for the connections to the pump.

Also the Master Parts list Group 35 has one for the 1955 which can be used for the 1956. In case you do not have a copy of the Master Parts list attached is the one.
