Would anyone know where to get the metal lock tabs for the u joints? They bend up around the bolt heads.

Steve Passmore

Must be somewhere in the US selling them as they have them in Aus. Have you tried one of your Nappa stores?

All the parts stores around here as soon as I say 1937 they have a deer-in-headlights look. Needless to say I'm not had any luck with that.

I'm sure these guys in Aus would send them if you get desperate. Living here in the UK we have to have every little sent across the pond.

Those tabs are hard to find, though I've sometimes seen them included in new u-joint kits.  If you can't find any, a good substitute is ordinary lock washers with a dab of Loctite.

Its been years since I worked with those locking devices.  If you cannot find them consider tab washers.  The long tab bends over the edge of the item and the short one bends up against the flat of the nut.
