My car has been in Tennessee it's entire life span of 48 years. The carpets were a bit old and smelly so I decided to replace them. I'm originally from the rust capital New York so I was very happy when I pulled the old ones out, floors look new and no rust. got the new carpets in with very little problem.

Did you use any sound-deadening material like DynaMat?

no, the car had rubber in the front and some kind of stuff in the back and the new carpets had  3/8" fiber material attach to the back.

Go for it, worth the effort, the worst part is removing the heavy seat. I know how the seat backs come off now so the bottom of the seat will be installed first.
