I love the post!!

Naturally, I'm a bit prejudiced since I loved the
movie Goodfellows and I own a '73 Eldorado (since NEW).
With that car -- and it's Dynasty red -- I could pull
up to any night spot in Pittsburgh and get the royal
treatment.

Obviously I agree completely with the article's author (and photographer).

But that article is almost four years old and I'm still waiting for the "hot collectible" part of the equation to kick in.  :)

Thanks!

70’s Cadillacs have a deep history with the mob. I also love the movie Goodfellas, and other mob flicks like Donnie Brasco, Casino and A Bronx Tale, all great films that show off how cool and slick it was to own such awesome cars.

A Bronx Tale actually shows off more scenes of Caddy’s than Goodfellas does.

Being a kid and watching all these mob movies growing up, I really think they had a huge influence in why I am so into old Cads now.

Sadly, there’s nothing comparable today for a Mafia Don to roll in.  :'(

The end of that period is also about the end of the Las Vegas mob.

Give or take 1980, a friend's high school friend was an illegitimate daughter of a mob boss.  She mentioned that she was being followed, and the creep was disappeared.

Ten years later as I arrived, the mob was reduced to comic relief:  70+ year olds showing up in the driveways of a past rival, leaning on a cane with one hand and shooting with the other over a decades old grudge. (seriously; this happened).

Publicly traded casinos weakened them (no daughters to kidnap or knees rot bash), and the new US Attorney and the new DA both had the spine to finish them off.

BTW, you only use Devilles to dump bodies in the desert; using another model is simply tacky . . . :)
