Hello , I did sell that 1961 Sedan DeVille 4 window in Dresden Blue when my Wife was getting more ill and we had to move back to Rochester , New York. We subsequently moved to Florida and my Wife died May 17th. 2018. The man I sold that car to in Atlanta resold it and I do not know what has become of it. It had approx. 36,000 miles on it when I sold it. I got $10,000.00 for it. I hope this helps.

Hello Bill, firstly let me say how sorry I am for your loss, can't imagine how that feels.

Re the car, I think it may be for sale again after a few minor tweaks. I will try to get the body plate details to see if it is the same one. I have the vin. It was the tear in the same place in the front seat which had me curious and the condition overall. Can't be many with same colour combo, similar miles and condition...

Thank you for the reply

Gentlemen , thank you for your condolences. The car should have an owners manual in the glove box with all the correct contents as well as a piece of paper that has the vin number of the car that was junked that gave it's Guidematic eye system for mine as mine did not have that option on it originally. Also there should be a CD player on the lower left side of the dash that I installed. I Loved that car.

Glaswegian

This is a picture of the owners manual, if that makes it easier to identify?

Thinking it may be another one now, same colour inside and out, but with tear in exactly same area of drivers seat.

Bill Young

That is not the owners manual that was in my car. mine was in the dark blue and clear plastic Cadillac owners manual wallet and had a warranty book with it also and the blue cover options booklet with it. Also I gave a manila folder that had all the repairs and things I had purchased for the car with it and stuck to the inside was also an oil change sticker from the original selling dealer from Newark New Jersey and a later oil change sticker from the later '70,s that I had carefully removed from the drivers door jamb. It makes me sick to think all that I preserved from that car was lost. Most people are not like me I preserve everything to keep as much original information on a car as I can. Lesson learned , when you sell a car consider it lost and all you did to preserve it.

Sorry Bill ! I'd so hoped it was yours, then I could have looked after it the way you had, if I buy. Some of the pics look so similar, under the hood even.

Would you post some photos of the car you are considering as I know the one I had so well I can put this question to rest for you.
