Is there a fan shroud for 1954 Cadillacs with air? If so does anyone have a picture or resource to get or make one?

I had a factory-air 54 CDV once that had the factory fan shroud.  It was a tiny thing and probably didn't do much good.  Which is probably why the factory dropped it quickly (it wasn't on the 55s with air).

The thing was made in two pieces, as I recall.  It attached to the sides of the radiator mounting brackets, I think.  It only projected from the back of the radiator about an inch or two (at the most).  It was a split design, that bolted together at 90 degrees and 270 degrees, I think.

I don't have a picture.  Sorry.

Thanks for that info. I do have a 59 parts book for Cadillacs and the shroud is not listed for 1954 probably because it was useless. I don't have overheat problems so I won't worry about it. If I find one at the right price I'll put one on.

Cadillac engineering outdid themselves in 1955 in regards to the cooling system! My radiator (stock no shroud) was given the ultimate test one summer 15yrs or so ago when I left my wife in the car idling in my friends driveway while I visited with him. I knew it was hot that day, but I didn't know the heat factor was 117 degrees! Wife was cool (within reason) and temp gage wasn't even halfway up it's scale. I do run a pair of USA made Flex-a-lite fans  triggered by their automatic controller to aid cooling the condenser. (for A/C purposes not motor cooling) I have a 5 bladed fan (limo) in my attic but have never bothered to install it....the stock 4 bladed one works fine for me....walt...tulsa,ok

You won't find one.  And not at the right price.  They are super rare on 54 models and are sought after for some reason.  Hell, the 54 engines don't even run that hot when properly tuned...
