I have most of my chrome trim/molding  fasteners except I can't seem to find any that are small enough for the 1/4" trim pieces that go inline with my exterior door handles on my 1956 Cadillac 62 series. Anybody know of any suppliers or individuals that may have them? May need other trim fasteners as well, these small ones are the only ones I'm struggling to find so far. Thanks in advance!

If you don't have a sample, I'm not sure what type this takes, but you can look up the part number, if you have access to body parts list.   My guess they are either the kind with a spring steel clip head screw that slide in or a wire push type.  Usually depends on how thick the part is.   May take different ones at different points as well, like ends vs middle.
Probably won't find OEM exact, but ones that might work.   The old metal ones are getting scarce.

Here is a picture of two that are broke, of course the smaller one is what I need most of the other is a connector. I would love to have the same thing but anything that works well is fine with me. Thanks for the response! And help

The smaller one looks like the faster used for the narrow”bead moldings” on the sides of ‘60 Eldorados. I was unaware that they were used on any other models.  If the same size, they are pretty much unobtainium unless you’re ready to pay $15/apiece.  There are repros, but the ones I’ve found are a little too small for the ‘60, although they might fit your car (try Frank Nicodemus/Castle Cadillac).  If not in a “blind” location, you can also grind down the heads of small machine screws and make your own “studs” for attaching the trim. I’ll try and post some pics later if I get some garage time later today.

I'm definitely not trying to break the bank, if need be I will make my own like you said. Thanks for the response.

    How many do you need?

Not sure on the exact number, I'd need to check, but probably in the 40-50ish range maybe. As well as a few of the long ones. How many can you spare? Thank you

I'm not sure you can easily make these, they're spring wire, and that needs to be heated to bend than heat treated to return spring.   That's why they break when you take out some times.   You don't want your trim falling off or rattling, better to leave off til correct.
Take a trim piece and go talk to a body man at your local body shop(s) and see what they can add if you can't find from the suppliers.   They may have alternate methods/universal clips.
Seems these '56s are a bit tougher than others to restore.

I have a few of these, too. I also gave a bunch of them to a friend who bought the trim from me and he might have a bunch left as well. Keep in touch and let us all know. I agree that I think Restoration Specialties has these, especially in the quantities you say you might need.

I finally had some time in the "parts dept" and took pics of what I was talking about.  Here are pictures of the original fastener used on '60 Eldos (dark red), along with the repro that I got from Castle Cadillac (black),which looks more like what you are looking for.  The second pic shows one of the the ground down stainless steel screws I referred to, along with a clip sold by Restoration Specialties.  The latter has a very thin shaft, finding a nut that fits and still has a large enough flange to hold it in place. If you are interested in the black repro clips, I have 26 that I'd be happy to sell cheap.

I do like the black repo clips you have, however I only have a thickness of 1/16"  for them to slide into and of course the 1/4" width then they need to push into an 1/8" hole. Those look kinda thick, although if the price is right I may just get them anyways. Also I have already visited the ground down bolt head option and may go that route if your clips don't work.  I'll send you a private message with my shipping address and you can let me know how much with shipping. Thanks!
