Anyone know whether there is a source for stats on how many 1970 Deville Convertibles rolled off the line with a certain paint code.  I just sent an email to the GM Heritage center, as a followup to my purchase of a build sheet for my car, to see if data like this is available......  But in the meantime.....

I am particularly looking for information on paint code 99:  Chateau Mauve Firemist

The 1970 Cadillac Data book shows % of usage of colors for the "Style F convertible" at 2.40%, but it is based upon 1969 data, up through May of 1969

The 1971 Cadillac Data book shows % of usage of colors for the "Calais and Deville" (a bigger "pool" of vehicles of which the DeVille Convertible would have been a subset in 1970, as there were no DeVille convertibles in 1971, just the Eldorado convertible for 1971) at .7%, based upon 1970 data, up through May of 1970.  In the 1971 data book they list paint code 99 as "Primrose Firemist" so they must have changed the name from "Chateau Mauve Firemist" to "Primrose Firemist" for 1971

This past summer, I bought a 1970 Deville Convertible with body color Chateau Mauve Firemist, with a white conv top and white interior with black carpet and black dash and am curious on how many convertibles with this paint code rolled off the line.

I've always wondered if there were any statistics as to how many cars were painted a certain color on any given model and model year.
Current:
1976 Eldorado Convertible in Crystal Blue Fire Mist with white interior and top. (Misty Blue)

Past and much missed:
1977 Brougham de Elegance
1976 Eldorado Convertible
1972 Fleetwood Brougham
1971 Sedan de Ville
1970 de Ville Convertible
1969 Fleetwood Brougham
1969 Sedan de Ville
1959 Sedan deVille

we took the color use % into the 15172 total that's as good a number as can be calculated

Bill,
In the late 70’s I had one in Phantom Grey with a beautiful red leather interior and a black top. It was a beautiful combo. I assume that color is pretty rare too. I’ve never seen another one.
