Need Drive Shaft and Gas Tank for 1937 LaSalle. 812 273-2472

Tom Boehm

Hello Carl, You may already know this but the cars using the tank you need are as follows:
1937 and 1938 series 50 and 60. 1938 series 65 commercial chassis (ambulance/hearse).

Other cars using the driveshaft you need are as follows:   1937 series 50 and 60.
The following cars use that driveshaft as the rear shaft of a pair: All commercial chassis  1937 series 50 and 60, 1938,1939,1940 series 75
The book says the shaft you need is 42   51/64 inches long.

This info came from the Cadillac master parts list book 1935-1949

Do you not have a driveshaft or is the one you have damaged? If it is damaged you can have a new one made with the existing ends or the old one repaired/ balanced at Republic Driveshaft in Louisville.

The seller claims it is from a 1937 series 52.  Only 1940 had a series 52.

I think I have located the drive shaft and now wondering what other gas tanks may fit.
