Where would you recomend to buy rubber parts, do you have a complete partslist? i need almost everything

Mounting clips for trims do you know where to buy and what is needed.

Hello, We have a 1946 61 coup that we are /hare been restoring. Steel rubber has most of what you need but they are very pricey. Rubber the right way is a little better but doesn't have as much inventory. As for clips we have found some that work , some exact replacements and like the rocker molding some we will make. The side window trim is the hardest as the stainless was crimped over the fastening tin. If you can get the trim off the tin fastener there is a small butterfly clip that will work.  The rear fender gravel guards are made of unabtainium. I have mine but welded over the holes during paint because they are in such bad shape. When I find some stainless ones I will drill them out again.   I have to ask if you have any fender skirts? Ours were lost somewhere in time.   Tim

I have an extra set of fender skirts for my 49 Series 61, but they have the chrome trim around the arch.  Maybe from a Fleetwood?  Not sure.  I can post pictures if you like.

Robert, I have not tried this, but I know others who have with success: call Steele Rubber and explain to them you need all of the rubber parts for your car and, since you are buying everything at once, would they be willing to give you a discount?  Now, the downside is you will need to buy all the parts at once, but the potential for a discount outweighs that.  As I said, I have not tried this, but I know others who have done this successfully.  Your results may vary.  It never hurts to ask.

Welcome to the challenge of 47's. I too have a 47-6107 started my resto many years ago and working on it on and off. I have a blog on the restoration corner but have not worked on anything with this project in several years due to other things ahead of it. As for Rubber I used Steel and replace as I go so it does not sting so bad but I also use Rubber the Right way for stuff now. They actually are a Steele wholesaler so the may save a bit for you and it is still Steele Rubber not on everything but the relaly hard parts are from Steele. Robert at Rubber the Right Way is very knowledgeable and easy to work with.

Clips, well I hav ehad to make some like the rockers and spears. Windows are still out there. I have not figures ou what I will do with the outside window trim they are not out there anywhere and mine rotted to the point that I cant even get a pattern to make my own. When I get back to working on her I will post updates and trim stuff. Right know I am deep inot my "51 and some other projects. Like to keep up with you since the 6107 is far and few between. There was a guy up in the Pacific Northwest that fully resored his to a show winner but I reached out several years ago and they were not really willing to share any resources or secret sauce.

I'm in the same boat right now. You can contact Rubber the right way and tell them what car you have and they will send a list of all the pieces you need.
I've  ordered some rubber parts from Metro  Moulded Parts and they look fine.
Old Buick Parts (CARS) has some Cadillac parts like the door and trunk weatherstripping. They have an eBay store.
I looked at Restoration Specialties for clips and hardware. Haven't ordered yet but I have a list going.

I know, a different year, but I needed all sorts of stuff for my 1957. With measuring clips that I needed from the stainless trim, and finding things that were universal and could be trimmed/bent; I ordered a lot of universal fasteners on eBay for everything body related. A lot of the rubber can be found on eBay as well, on Amazon, or through image searches on google. A lot of these parts were not car specific but also used on Olds, Buick, etc. All of my weatherstripping I found online by matching up cross sections of the old pieces to the cross sections to all the different "universal" lengths that were being offered. Yes, I know, they make weatherstripping kits for my year but I didn't like the price they were asking and I pieced everything together for mine for a fraction of their ask. Rocker panel clips I did order new on eBay except the ones for the front fender which no one makes, but I was able to find someone selling a used fender that happened to have the exact clip I needed attached. I asked to buy just the clip so I can recreate them for myself and they agreed - problem solved.

So, it just takes some patience and a lot of searching around, but it's all out there.
