I've seen many of you name the best places in the States to buy exhaust systems from?

I can't find the threads - would you mind letting me know who you've bought mild steel exhausts from please?

It appears getting the right spec mufflers is getting more difficult?

Much appreciated. Paul

In my opinion, Waldron exhaust is the best place.

I'll third the Waldron choice but, no matter who you go with get ready for an extended lead time for the muffler.....

Isn't Waldron's just about all that is left?  The brands like Walker that were sold at parts stores have seemed to quit making all their older stuff. I wonder if that is because the OEM stuff kinda became a lifetime item starting in the later 1990's so many cars never need replacement parts anymore?

Muffler shortage? That seems like a tough one to blame on a chip shortage.

There is still Classic Exhaust Inc. selling exhausts. It appears the website is down but they're still listing systems on eBay. I have not used them, their systems are cheaper but there is some negative feedback about fitment, so beware.

I ordered the stainless steel version for my 61 from Walgreens 2 days ago. I decided to drive there to pick it up so I did not have to pay $140 for shipping.

They have already contacted me three times since my order confirming it and notifying me there is still a 10-12 week lead time.

Maybe when you go pick up your system you can ask for a tour and if you can take some pics?  I'm just curious how big of an operation they are.  With that kind of lead times I'm assuming there are maybe only a couple people and machines doing the actual fabrication.  But who knows maybe the demand is high and they have a dozen lines working 3 shifts 7 days a week to keep up.

it almost seemed it was a husband and wife. If you look them up on Google maps it just looks like a small town downtown business.

Lifetime, starting what year, how long is lifetime?
I have put exhaust parts on a 2001.  409 will last
longer, but not my definition of lifetime.  My 77
and others get real lifetime, 304 SS.

Could also use some lifetime radiator and heater
hoses, another maintenance annoyance. Bruce Roe

Yet another vote for Waldron's. I recently did the entire exhaust system on my '59. That can be see here:

Their systems come very highly recommended from others on this forum and I am very pleased with the quality and workmanship of the system I got from them.

Gabe how much did your exhaust hanger set cost.  I need a set for my 61 which is only a single pipe. But similar hangers to the 59.

Grant in New Zealand was asking $300+shipping for the set. They were very well made.
