A woman from Switzerland asked for an ignition coil and condenser for her 1940 LaSalle. As I'm not at home for some days, I cannot check if those parts were used on all 6V cars and I don't know which company is selling those parts.
Some help will be appreciated!

The condenser is the same as any 6V GM from about 1940 to early 50's.
The coil is another matter as it is a one piece Coil-coax-ign switch.
That one could be difficult.

Oh! That will effectively increase the difficulty to get one. As I have zero experience in such cars, I will wait till I'm back home.
Thanks for the info.

Today I had a phone call with the owner. He said that he modified the system and he installed a coil from a Volkswagen. It seems that the engine is running well with that modified system!

Im pretty sure all the cadillacs from that era used the same coil,it had a little "hat" that the coil twists and locks into, the power wire is on the end that is covered,a theft prevention measure. You see them all the time on Ebay, usually are 100.00 or so. harveyb

Thanks for the comments. It's not my car and I have no experience in the pre-war models. When I don't know something, I'm reluctant to do a search for something I have no idea about its characteristics. Would you do a search on a regular basis to find something for a person you don't know?
It seems that the owner is happy with his solution; for me this tory is at its end and I can go to something else like to find a radiator ornament for a 1933 LaSalle!
Edit: Thanks to a post in the general comments about a 1941 car, I could see the first time how the coil and ignition key were connected. Interesting pictures!
