1960s 1966 Fleetwood motor # / Vin # question

I found my 1966 Fleetwood's motor # but it's different than what the shop manual says it should be....

The # should be P61 XXXXX but it's P62 XXXXX......I have a 1967 shop manual and those aren't the #s either....

Is it a 1965 engine?    or is this a 1966 replacement motor given this strange id #

Tomorrow I'll go looking for the VIN on the frame rail....maybe the #2 on the motor was a mistake?

My brain was telling me that there was no way they made 100,000 plus Fleetwood Broughams...

You are welcome Mike! As you can see, the engine numbers was consecutive, no matter which body style.
