Hi guys 👋🏼
I am new to the forum and so please be indulgent  ;D
I have a problem with my 67' Fleetwood

Recently I wanted to replace the fuses with new fuses because I had seen that it was not brand new but everything was working...
But as i changed the fuses, the electric windows the horn and the electric seat does not work anymore,
even when replacing with other fuse..
do you know where the problem could come from?
I have the manual but I am not very good at electronics  :(

thank you all
Have a good day
Max

Pretty sure they operated on a 40a breaker. Someone with the car or a sharper memory than mine will chip in here.

Yes, one of those metal overload breakers that doesn'tlook like a glass fuse...may be oxidation on the contacts, either in the receptacle or in the bi metal device. If you know how to use a multimeter,  you can easily find the issue

Also MAX, I don't recall for certain whether or not "fusible links" were employed in the heavy load circuitry  (I think they came later)--- but, as mentioned, there is no glass fuse for these heavy amperage circuits. in any case, if you don't have a service manual, you certainly need one.  THese were NOT complicated cars (electrically) except for the auto-climate controls.  Keep us in the loop,  James

Max,

The electric seat and windows use a 40 amp circuit breaker, not a fuse.  Here is what the '66 shop manual says on the circuit breaker chart:

"On cars equipped with power windows and/or power seats, and on convertible styles, the 25 amp horn fuse is replaced by a 40 amp Circuit Breaker."

If you put a 25 amp fuse in that slot in the fuse panel (as it is marked), it will blow.  The breaker directly replaces the fuse - it snaps into the "horn" slot on the panel.  This is an what it looks like:

Not sure of the best source - happy hunting!

X2 on the circuit breaker instead of the regular glass fuses for cars with power windows and power seat. If you removed the circuit breaker, put it back where it was, and most likely everything will work again.

Make sure the wire that feeds those circuits did not become unplugged on the back of the fuse box. There are three or four wires on the back of the fuse box that feed the different fuse circuits, and they can accidentally get unplugged handling the fuse box.
