Please point me in the right direction. I have three 1957-58 Cadillac Power steering gear boxes. Looking for some one who rebuilds these units. Someone who is in the Midwest. Michigan preferred Thanks, Paul

Lares in MN seems to be the go-to. I have no first hand experience, however.

That is a Saginaw steering gear. You would hope to find someone from Saginaw who rebuilds them. But I have been surprised to see how few people in Michigan are still working on old parts.

There's one here in Columbus who has been doing this for about 45 years.

I have used Lares for 2 cars.  They are a large rebuilder, supplying services to the likes of Rock Auto and other vendors.  Expensive, but very good at what they do.  No complaints and I recommend.

I'm wondering what they do for that price. Just replace the seals and some bearings? Usually, the worm, nut and balls have some wear and, if not passing the test described in the shop manual, they must be replaced. I doubt that they have those parts available. The balls probably, but, according to my experience, its not enough!
