Does anyone know if its possible to fit a 1966 steering wheel onto a 1970 column?
Im not happy with my 1970 wheel. Its ugly.
Thanks!

Another option is the very expensive Nardi wood wheel for Cadillac.
Has anyone fitted one of these?

I could be wrong but I think the basic mechanics of the wheels changed 67-68 ish.   It was a combination of the safety collapsible requirements and the lock.

While I understand your dilemma, I think having a 66 wheel on a 70 would look out of place.

My steering wheel looks ugly too. Its nearly 3K to get them properly restored, I'll eat the point at the Nationals and buy a round instead. Go on You Tube, there's some guy selling a wood look insert you can install yourself, its glue on the back, and I think its under $200. I don't know if it works but your steering wheel still will.

Even if it does interchange, the biggest problem with fitting a steering wheel with a deep dish as against one with a flat surface is that you would have to either shorten up the steering column to fit, or shorten your arms to allow for the rim being a lot closer to your chest.

Thanks for the advice!
Im going with a wooden boat wheel instead.
It is, as they say, a land yacht after all.
