This was one of the 1964 "Roundtable" Slidefilm training presentations. CLC and 63/64 Chapter Member from Germany Christian Doerk has converted 3 of these slide films to a video file format and uploaded. These were originally presented using a slidefilm projector, the film for that training session and a 33 1/3" album. There was also a accompanying paper training document with a test at the end. There were 9 for the 1964 model year starting in Sept 1963.  Christian takes individual pictures of each slide film and splices it all together.

I picked up the training set pictured below with 8 of the 9 1964 training filmstrips, and all the accompanying albums.  The only training film I am missing is the first "Kings or Better" which both Christian and I am searching for. I do have the paper program, we just need the film and album.

At our Chapter Meet-Up in Gettysburg I presented my set to Christian to convert all of the remaining 1964 training programs and provide a video for all to enjoy. The set is now in Germany with Christian! This will take time but worth the wait.  Just to add the programs have lots of documentation, information, pictures and illustrations not seen in any other documentation including the shop manual, dealer date book, master parts book, or the serviceman bulletins and there addendums. These offer a truly unique insight into these Cadillacs as they were being presented to the GM service techs, and sales staff!

Below is a sample of one of the pages from one of the serviceman bulletins, offering often straightforward descriptions of changes for the new model year. I plan to scan these documents and post in upcoming 63/64 Cadillac Chapter Newsletters and on our Chapter Website.

Jason,

If Jam Handy produced the films and records, you should contact the Detroit Public Library's Burton Historical Collection to find out if they have a copy of the missing record and film.

You may also wish to check with the Skillman branch of the Detroit Public library. It houses the National Automobile History Collection.  It's a beautiful building. It's also recently closed for repairs and I am not sure if and when it has reopened.

  Kings or Better
There is a copy on eBay right now! But, its part of a big collection of 1964 Stuff.  Normally Cadillac issued 10  Programs a year . The Roundtable ones ran from Sept to June each model year. So you should have 10. The list by calendar years for 1962/1963 was in Jan 1964,and 1964/1965 in Jan 1966 Service man. There also were Sales craft films 10 in 1963 plus a Product film. 20 in 1964 plus a product film.
Warning; Most of these films aren't as good as the above one.

I don't have and assumed the September 1963 "The Jungle" Round Table Program, which covers "the importance of dealership communications" was still covering the 1963 model year. I also have the Oct 1963 "Kings or Better" paper program which seems to be the introduction of the 1964 model year so that is where I come up with 9 for the model year 1964. I will want that Sept 1963 program regardless, along with all of those spanning the 1963 Cadillac, but right now I am focused on those that span 1964 Cadillacs since that is what I own and I have 8 of those slide films and programs.

Also, as far as the calendar year 1964 I am only showing 9. See screen shot below.  The listings of the Roundtable Programs are also listed in the year-end Indexes, which is what you see in the scan.

If you have the eBay link that has the Kings or Better Slide film it would be much appreciated if you can post it.

If its the Jungle you are missing ,its no loss.  I have a copy . As I recall there are no pictures or anything related in the film of interest. Just talk about communication between different people and departments in the dealership.

Kings or Better is the service Product Film .Product films are the best. I don't have a copy. The one on eBay- search for; 1964 Cadillac 111 piece Dream Collection. PJ's Auto Lit $2300.00.

There were 52 film sets in 1963-64, between service and sales.I only have 37.

The 63 Roundtable set ,I'm missing the record for "Satisfaction in '63",but have the other 9.

Salescraft 1963 have all,but #8 The Used Car-A Key To Success  ,including the Product film "Cadillac for 1963,New Standard of Excellence

Salescraft 1964 They changed the program Each record got 2 films .
I don't have Product  film "A World of Excellence... More Tempting than Ever"
I do  have meetings #3,4,5,7,8 &9 (2films and record each)

If your man in Germany doesn't get tired of this, a loan maybe possible.

The problem with a set like this is most of us that are into these model years will already have 90% of the stuff offered. I did reach out to the seller yesterday morning asking for the condition of the filmstrips and the albums, and whether or not the paper programs are included. No response so far. There are limited pictures on what is being offered and only vague description at best of much of it.

Here is the response I received:
"The records/film strips do not include any program. Condition for the film strips look like they have never even been removed from the containers. The albums I would consider very good, showing light wear."

For that kind of money I would like to have the programs. As seen below, my set did not include all programs but it did include 6 programs.

I ran up to where I have the films stored ,and can now answer one of the questions.

Why are there only 9 programs listed in the 1964 Service man index?

The Sept and Oct 1965 programs were released together.  Cadillac-Most of all parts I & II . Only one Leader guide and only one Summary. Two records and films.

Jason you show 16 records and films. When I zoom ,it blurs and I can't read the titles. The white  films containers I have from 1965 seem to match. Am I right?

As far as I know there were only 6 Summary bulletins published, for 1964. (Oct,Nov,Jan,Mar,May,Jun)They were only published for technical subjects.

There should be a Meeting Guide for each film. I have (Sept,Nov,Jan,Feb,Apr,May,June). Love to trade photo copies for what I'm / Your missing.

Here is an inventory of my Round Table Meeting Guides and Program Service Summaries.  It is start. I would have been much more interested in that expensive eBay listing if they at least had the meeting guides and service summaries (for those available).

Meeting Guides:

1964-02 Service's Better Half
1964-03 The Private Eyes
1964-04 One Little Thing After Another
1964-05 Foot Loose and Fatigue-Free ... with Cruise Control
1965-06 All Systems are Go

Service Summaries:
1962-03 Warm Up for Spring
1963-01 A Matter of Current Interest
1963-02 Symptoms... Systems... and Diagnosis
1963-04 Blend for Comfort
1963-06 Chart the Course
1963-10 Kings or Better
1964-01 Weather Forecast
1964-05 Foot Loose and Fatigue-Free ... with Cruise Control
