I have a 4-door 1967 DeVille with no pillar between doors--where is my VIN tag? I have not been able to easily see it. Is it mounted to the plastic dividers?

The vehicle was repainted 50+ years ago and I'm worried they might have removed it then. I need to have the DMV verify the VIN, if I can't find it I doubt they could.
Thank you very much.

Good luck getting someone to crawl under the car for verification.

There has to be a tag elsewhere on the vehicle. The door lock pillar, the upper left corner of the dash?
Current:

The owners manual also has more information.

It makes it clear that the location on the engine is one place to find the Vehicle ID number.

The 2nd place is on top of the frame right side rail to the rear of the radiator.

The 3rd place for the owner's convenience is on the plastic service notice plate on the left front door lock pillar.

If Rhodes has some custom ,where the newel type pillar has been removed . He will have to try the first two locations.  The little service plate ,can be removed with two screws on most Cadillacs of the 60s. The repainter  may have removed and not have put it back.

I'll look again, but I think you're right about them removing it.
The original engine failed and was removed over 40 years ago so that's not gonna happen. Time to start wire brushing the frame.

Thank you everyone for the helpful input.

You can get a replacement vin tag if needed:

Might not be 100% correct but at least it's better than nothing.
