On Sunday, November 17, John Warner hosted CLC Potomac Potomac members at his home in Front Royal, VA.  Enjoy pictures from that great day at https://www.clcpotomacregion.org/2024johnwarnercollection.htm.

Thanks again, John, for your generous hospitality.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Really nice get together. Very apparent that for the most part now more than ever these cars are being sheltered by a fading generation as spoken of by Roy Schneider in his book Cadillac's of the sixties in 1995.

What a spectacular collection of fine automobiles. I'm not picking favorites, so you can put them all in my yard if you should decide you want to restore an entire fleet again!  8)

Which one? The Premier or the Continental.

Sad to say, I've been a member for 19 years and I don't recognize anyone there. Very few events take place down in the southeast corner of the country.

I have plans to be in TN and also in Concord. Orlando is a 30 minute drive and I won't even need a hotel for that. I could attend other functions but refuse to get on a plane. Air travel is a nightmare the way the savages act these days.

I actually have 2 Chapters in Florida. Tampa 100 odd miles away and So. Florida which is based 200 miles away.

John, I am working on a story for the December issue about the recently held CLC South Florida Region car show held in Ft. Lauderdale.  Lynn Gardner drove down from the Orlando area and submitted some great photos and a write-up.  Talk with you later, Vince

When I first joined the CLC, I emailed every member from Palm Beach to the Keys to see if there was any interest in getting a South Florida chapter started. I got maybe 3 negative replies and the rest crickets. From there I jumped on board with the Modified Chapter, but realized I was too much of a purist for that group. I was never into butchering cars with odd suspensions, wagon wheels and weird paint.

The venue where the show was held, Ed Morse Bayview Cadillac, was formerly Conner Brown Cadillac. That was where I began my employment as a mechanic. Lynn lives about an hour north west of me.

Sorry for muddying up your thread JW.

I would like to invite the Florida CLC club to my farm next year, but I require 500 oranges and five cases of dark rum.

With the influx of people building out cities and towns, oranges and grapefruits are becoming extinct here as of late. I never tried dark rum.

The Auto Train would dump me right near your place.  :)

The extinction (or nearly so) of all manner of citrus fruit in Florida is due to "Citrus Greening".  It has devastated the citrus industry in this state.  At one time, Florida Grapefruit - Indian River Grapefruit in particular - was the Cadillac of grapefruit and world famous.

There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Mental Illness".  Dave Barry.   I walk that line.
