I'm looking through the Cadillac 1929-1936 Master Parts Catalog to try and find the name of the pans that go around the engine between it and the chassis on a 1930 Cadillac. I can't seem to find the correct name or chapter in the book. Does any one know for sure what they are called by the 1930 Cadillac Service Department?

I don't know the early 30's parts scheme.  If it is the same as late 30's which I am familiar with it is group number 10.1140 Mud Pan Shelf. Looking at my master parts (starts 36) list 36-75 shows this part in this group.

If the question has been answered I have a question.  Got any pictures or diagrams of these things?   Are they like more modern cars where its kind of a cover over the bottom of the engine bay?

Very interesting.  Was it intended to sort of be like a filter?  Getting mud into or near the engine bay was likely so they were trying to catch it lower where it would be easier to clean up?

Sorry, I cannot answer precisely, I'm just making a scale model and gathering info where I can.

A great thing for catching dropped tools when working on the car.

Modern cars use the under covers for aiding in aerodynamics.

Roger, you wouldn't have a photo of these from a 1930 or '31 Caddie would you? I'm trying to find out which is which. I have three sets but don't know which might be for a '30.
