I have a quick question that's been sort of itchin at me.  How difficult is it to source parts for the 1918 Cadillacs?  I assume it would be difficult since its over 107 years old however what parts are critical and made of "unobtainium"?

You might contact Paul Ayres. He is in the Directory. Go in the back to the listing of members and you will find his state. (Or if you're looking on line, go to the end.)

So if we can reach an agreement might grab a nice, clean, restored 1918.  Always liked em when I saw one on the DC mall about 7 years back.  Was Pershings WWI car.  After reading some more about them I like how they can easily tour at 50 mph without issue.  My only concern is parts.

I was just sent this yesterday:

I haven't heard back from the seller after he seemed set on a 40k range for this car.  I think its a bit too high and asked if there was something we could do to come to an agreement.  Silence.  The search continues.

For an incomplete auto that old, I'd say, with respect, that he is dreaming. Persons owning such are car are getting older every day, and if you are patient, you might find one in running condition for much less. (Unless you are willing to try to find the valley where they ran 1918 Cadillacs off a cliff, and see if there are any parts left to dig up.)

I don't remember the issue of the S/S that told this story, but it was way back in the mimeograph days of the sixties.

This one is, in all fairness, restored.  It has some paint damage which is minor and fixable but she seems well sorted.  I was of the mindset you had Barry.  Its a niche market and they're getting harder and harder to keep running.  I wasn't fully set on the color either.  Id love one in blue or green ideally.
