I have a question about my 1976 Eldorado conv.... Is there a way to repair the little thermometer on the drivers side mirror....mine appears to have lost whatever liquid was once inside... I DONT see an easy way to remove and rebuild it....

There is no liquid inside. The only way to open it up is to remove the plastic cover. Break it and you'll be SOL. The dial is on a thermostatic spring.

If it needs to be calibrated, you can turn the sensor on the front side of the mirror with a thin pair of needle nosed pliers. It requires almost zero effort to correct it by movement of the sensor.

John, I thought you would like to know that Dr. Jerry Donigian died a couple of weeks ago.  It seems like yesterday that I found your Eldo for him.  We had lost contact a few years ago, his wife was not as compatible with Claire and I, and when we moved to Saratoga, we lost tract of each other.  He was really a nice, nice man

:'(  Thank you, Tony. I never got to meet him but we spoke often. He and Anna were always very cordial to me.

I'll be showing off Misty Blue in his honor at the 50th anniversary next year at the GN. Hopefully you might attend.
