I'm trying to find the correct replacement for my speedometer cable.  According to the parts manual, the correct part number is 25033161.  I'm not able to find anything with that part number, aside from some cables that are for an S10 Blazer, which reference my part number.  The part number for that cable is 14035513.  The end that connects to the transmission on these cables looks different than my existing cable.

I checked CaddyDaddy.com, and they have two cables listed for my car:  a 41" and an 84".  Both say not for cars with cruise control (which my car has).  Rock Auto has two options, both 80".  Are these cables really that long?  I'd like to order a replacement, versus removing my cable, measuring it and then ordering.  My mechanic is going to install it for me next time the car is in for service.  My existing cable is making noise inside the dash at low speeds, and the speedometer needle also jumps back and forth at low speeds.  My connection at the transmission is also leaking.

Any ideas?

Remove your existing speedo cable remove the cable from the housing & clean it ,flush the cable housing & blow it dry inside, grease the cable with white lithium grease reinstall the cable in the housing & install the cable . that should take care of the problem. the oil leak could be a o-ring leak @ speedo gear housing where the cable connects.
