Don't go with gas shocks...find hydraulic shocks.

For whatever reason, the front shocks for the 1955 models were very hard to find even 25 years ago when I was restoring my car.  The rear shocks, no problem.  However, there are places that rebuild hydraulic shocks today. I have no experience with any of them.  However, perhaps another member can shed more light on this.

The fronts were very hard to find when we did ours. Can't remember what we went with but it was a standard shock that doesn't have the spirals.
