There was a drive report on the 53/59 LeMans in Special Interest Autos #169, Feb. 99.

Speaking of the 1953 Cadillac Le Mans show car, in the pictures of the car appears a white piece of plastic or fiberglass 2 inches by 5 inches plate that is attached to the exterior behind the drivers front wheel well at the bottom of the car. It is not on the passenger side. Does this white plate "thing" serve a purpose or is it just for looks? Also the car is suppose to have a rain sensor so that if it rains up goes the top automatically. My question is where is it located? On the 1951 Buick Le Sabre show car it is located on the inside seat console. There is no console in the 53 Cadillac Le Mans.
