Review your CLC directory and contact the 67 expert

Gday Dave,

I saw those, and as I had nothing for them to fit, I didnt bother to bid.

I didnt think that there would be that many lookers either.

By the way, good buying, even if they dont fit your car.  The shape of the door skin will be different, that is for sure, but if needed be, you will be able to on-sell them when advertised correctly.

Isnt this a replay of a previous post? Those mirrors will NOT fit a 68 Eldo. They fit 71 & up to 78 Eldo & 71 to 76 Devilles. Dont ask a 67 expert on 68 mirror questions. Totally different mirrors. Bob

Cant they be modified with rubber mounts?

Bruce Reynolds # 18992

The use of a rubber mount will allow the mirror to move around and vibrate.   They have to be mounted solidly.

The best way to mount it would be to make a base-plate adaptor which follows the contour of the door on the bottom, and the contour of the mirror base, and still keeping the mirror level with the ground.

This will end up as an elongated spacer which is thicker on one side than the other.

It wouldnt be impossible to do, just will take a bit of time with tools to accomplist the correct shape.

The other method would be to trim the base that is attached to the mirror to remove enough metal to allow it to sit straight.

But, I wouldnt advise that.  In your country, if you are in USA, it would be easier to locate the correct mirror.
