I want to thank all of you who did not bid me up on the one owner 79 Brougham in KY last week. (4543860532) One guy carefully bid up to where he found the reserve on Monday, and just left. I was the next bidder and it sat there with no other action all week until auctions end, $25.00 over reserve. Car was as described with the original dealer papers. The owner, a "little old (84 years young) lady," when asked how much oil the car used promptly answered, "Oh, about a quart every thousand miles!" I can tell from the condition of the car that she knew her car well, treated it well, and drove it to boot. The car likes to run. Drove between 65 and 70 on the parkways. The car has 144K and looks like you could drop the 100K part. Drove home 328 miles from Paducah in only two hours more than a three stop flight getting there with no trouble. It even has divided rain gutters like my 41-60S. Look for it in Des Moines.

Barry,
Very nice Caddy for a very good price. Was hoping to see you & your new Caddy at Kokomo in May.I hope to be there, if I get my roof done on my house. I will bring my new Caddy also, a 91 Brougham. Have a good day.

It should be there. Good luck on your roofing job. Remember, its a long way down to the ground.

Hey,

When/where is the Kokomo Show?  Is this the BOPCL show?

David

Barry Wheeler #2189

Yes, this is the all GM minus Chevy show. It will be held at the Kokomo Highland park as per usual on May 14th. Indiana region members should show up as early as possible to help set up as we are hosts this year. I seem to get lost every year finding the "right street," but if you are one of those that DO remember the street name, its in the same place. Behind, and down the hill from the Haynes? museum and next to the art museum.

OK, I thought this was the same one Lars told me about.  I am planning on heding down there for it.  I follow then so I can fine it...LOL!

Although, I will probably bring my 71 Electra 225 Custom 2DHT as our two Cadillacs are newer, 94 & 96.

Is this show open to anybody??
It isnt too far from me here in Michigan.
Is there an entry fee?
Are there any other particulars regarding the show?

  David,
You can E-mail Jeff Shiveley at CAd19651941@yahoo.com about the Kokomo Show. I think you could bring your 94 Caddy cause its 10 years old, ask Jeff to confirm. Hope to see you there.

For the last two years, a gentleman brought his 1932 Pontiac coupe to the show. What is really different about it is that it has an original V-8 in it!. It seems that when G.M. dropped the Oakland in favor of the Pontiac, they installed the left over Oakland V-8s in the Pontiacs. They are similar looking to the L-head Cadillac V-16. This car is beautiful and a pleasure to inspect. I hope he brings it again this year.
There are many nice Caddys, Buicks, Olds, and Pontiacs to look at, too.
See you there,
Bob B.

Also, one of our Indiana Region members usually brings one (of a pair) of his fully restored early 1930s Buick roadsters. He says it was as easy to do two at the same time. Then there is usually a fully restored 1950s Pontiac STANDARD trim coach, a dazzling 1958 Bonneville convertible, generally at least a pair or more of Grand Nationals, and (whatever Lars decides to bring) to whet your viewing pleasure. (Theres also plenty of room for Chevys to park on the street.) What is nice about the event is that along with the "regulars," at least one car weve never seen will cruise slowly by down the street, or even come to the show. We usally dont have rain, but sometimes it does get chilly, so throw a jacket or blanket in the car.

Great buy Barry.

I attended the 25th CLC Annual Calif North-South meet in Yosemite (Wawona) in 1988.

Don Frolich wrecked his pristine 76 Brougham on the way up.

Hello Barry,

Congratulations on acquiring that great Kaddy...it should give you great enjoyment.  And, how is the restoration of that 41 60S coming?
